Meet the faces behind the name

Hi, I’m João!

Originally from Portugal, I’ve been proud to call the UK home for over eight years. And meet the furry gang: Rafa, our 12-year-old brown dog resscued from Macau; Tiger, our ginger cat with a big personality from Battersea; and Brownie, our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, who’s no longer with us but always in our hearts.

Becoming a vet was a childhood dream – one that came true in 2009 when I graduated in Portugal. Since then, I’ve spent 15 years working with small animals across four countries and three continents, taking on all kinds of roles along the way.

Vet on the Loose was born from a simple idea: to make vet care easier for pets and their humans. By bringing care straight to your door, we take the stress out of vet visits – making things more convenient, more personal, and often more affordable too.

Welcome to the pack – we’re so glad you’re here! 🐾
